When it was presented in 1967 at the Milan Furniture Fair, the chair obtained so much public acclaim that many visitors left the stand taking away those on display. As a result of this unorthodox compliment, the chairs were tied to the stand with a chain. Thanks to Plia and his study of the “three-disc pivot”, thus revolutionizing the concept of the folding chair, Giancarlo Piretti entered history with the nickname of “Thonet of the 20th century”. Available in different colors, from the steel frame to its seat and backrest, it even boasts a Vienna straw version stretched over a solid wood frame, able to further enrich an all-Italian style icon.
